Add additional aeration to your cultures with our Pioreactor aeration kit. This kit comes with an air pump that can be controlled by the Pioreactor hardware and software, a bubble humidifier that conditions incoming gas, and a sintered stainless steel sparger with 15-20µm pore size.
Want to skip the air pump? You can also attach this to a pressurized gas system to introduce your own gas mixture into the culture.
We're excited about this release as it adds some cool new sub-components to the Pioreactor ecosystem. The Vial Cap P2 is our first air-tight vial cap, and has two input/output ports. The 15-20µm pore size sparger has been custom designed to fit easily into the Pioreactor vial, and provide massive air-liquid surface area. Finally, we are also introducing a barbed check valve to help control where we want fluids to not go.
Included in the kit
- Bubble humidifier, which includes a 40ml vial and a Vial Cap P2 with influx and efflux stainless steel ports.
- 12V air pump with power connection to the Pioreactor.
- Inline sterile air filter and barbed check valve.
- Sintered sparger with 15-20µm pore size.
- All necessary tubing and connectors.
- Dovetail holders for the 12V air pump and bubble humidifier.
Software
Control the new air pump with the pioreactor-air-bubbler plugin. From the UI, you can vary the power of the air pump to control the aeration, and avoid bubbles during sensitive optical density readings. Learn more about installing plugins.
